As part of Moree on a Plate's collaborative approach to showcasing the community, UNE SMART Regional Incubator will hold Pitch2Grow Moree.
It is an opportunity to pitch local business ideas to further support Moree.
Eight locals will pitch their ideas on Friday, May 10, at Social House Co.
They include:
- Nathan Davies of NJ-Neer Concrete Casting, who specialises in bespoke artisan concrete, creating custom finishes to suit any aesthetic - from soft pastel to vibrant terrazzo;
- Jules Minor and Jacson Warner are setting up a creative agency, Jule Jarner, to support the community through creative initiatives, such as workshops, event support, art instillations and educational resources;
- Tyler Macey of Social Co House is a dedicated co-working and event space;
- Amber Boyle of Crème Studio, a new local business with a focus on hair restoration, injectables, medical grade skin resurfacing;
- Kerrie Saunders of Yinarr-Ma who will soon market flour sourced from native grains;
- Michael Phipps who is developing NDISmate, software to help NDIS providers such as OTs, counsellors, and physiotherapists manage their administrative tasks;
- Kerrianne Ryan who is pitching an equine education business, Gallop and Grow, using horses to help heal trauma;
- Mitchell Estens who is looking to support the local community via a not-for-profit central online portal, comprehensively showcasing everything from events, sporting clubs, cultural clubs, tourism opportunities and volunteering opportunities - helping contribute to a positive Moree brand, and a positive online experience for locals, visitors and potential job seekers alike.
Amber Boyle of Creme Studio said Pitch2Grow represented a great opportunity to get out of her comfort zone, and help showcase the local business opportunities that abound in Moree.
"Public speaking is something I need to get better at, and this will be a great personal challenge," Ms Boyle said.
"It will also help me refine what my business is. It's been so exciting, and rewarding, opening a new business in town."
Pitch2Grow will be held on May 10 from 12pm to 2pm at Social Co House.
